Pipe External Coating Mill 


This mill was commissioned at 2006 for coating of 6-100 in. diameter pipes in accordance with national or international standards such as: IGS-ES-TP-010, IPS-G-TP-335, DIN 30670, ISO 21809-1and customer requirement.
In coating process, first, external surface of pipe is washed and passes through pre-heating ovens. Then pipes are blasted up to SA 2 ½ (minimum) by two shot blasting systems to achieve minimum 60 microns roughness. Then acid washing is applied on external surface of pipes and pipe moved to coating application station.
When is required by the customer, it is possible to apply chromate in coating application area. In that case, chromate is applied on the surface of pipe and then pipe is heated by induction heaters. After heating, epoxy powder as first layer, cohesive layer as second layer and polyethylene as third layer are applied on the pipe surface with desired thickness and are cooled through quench tunnel. Then pipe ends coatings are peeled off at pipe end's circumference. After that coating quality is tested by holiday detection equipment. If the coating is acceptable, pipes can be delivered to the customer.
